What is Energy Medicine?
Energy medicine is an ancient, powerful, integrated holistic approach that will assist you in moving your Mind-Body and Energy. It creates a balanced internal and external environment that will help awaken and signal your body's energy in such a way to activate its own natural healing abilities.
It builds on the foundation of acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, therapeutic tai chi, qigong, yoga and other disciplines, offering a potent complement to traditional Western medicine.
How does it work?
One of the most well-known energy systems, are the meridians and acupressure points, which several studies have shown to be measurable and observable. While there are opposing views regarding interpretation of measurements and mechanism how the acupressure points work, there is a majority consensus in the scientific and alternative and complementary field that stimulation of the points significantly benefits those with chronic pain, immune disorders, gastrointestinal, circulatory, etc..
The reputed Mayo Clinic conducted a study where participants with chronic pain received weekly 30 minute Qigong energy healing sessions for four consecutive weeks. "Most had experienced pain for > 5 years (66%); the rest, for > 3 to 5 years (8%), 1 to 3 years (10%), or < 1 year but > 3 months (10%). The most frequent concomitant diagnoses were multifactorial (26%), osteoarthritis (18%), and low back pain (12%). Most patients were also receiving other treatments (74%); none previously had EQT (External Qigong Treatment)." "Participants had a significant decrease in pain intensity in the 2nd (p = 0.003), 3rd (p < 0.001), and 4th weeks of treatment (p = 0.003)." *
The article concluded with the following statements:
"Our study was a randomly controlled clinical trial that demonstrated statistically significant results of immediate reductions in pain intensity in persons with chronic pain after the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th EQT sessions. This finding is especially impressive given the long duration of pain (> 5 years), in most of the participants.
"Our study investigated the effect of external qigong on general chronic pain. Chronic pain is highly prevalent in the general population. Adequate clinical management of chronic pain is an ongoing challenge, and a purely pharmaceutical approach has proven inadequate. With chronic pain as a key feature of so many conditions, we decided to study the effect of external qigong on chronic pain so that results could be generalized on a broader scale."

Reflexology protocols show the connection between cortical activity in the brain and corresponding reflexology points on the foot as demonstrated with MRI images ***. The Brazilian Toe Technique is also used in hospitals in Brazil and to a lesser extent in the US to help induce cancer patients in a deep relaxation state conducive to the healing process.

Although Energy Medicine uses the term “medicine,” it does not imply that Energy Medicine practitioners are practicing medicine. Energy Medicine is a term used by many training programs that teach people how to assess and correct for energy imbalances in the body. Energy Medicine is not a substitute for the diagnosis and/or treatment of medical or mental health conditions by a licensed health care professional. If you have a disorder that has been diagnosed by a licensed medical or mental health professional or a condition that should be evaluated by a licensed health professional, my services should be used only in conjunction with your obtaining that care. I do not diagnose or treat medical or mental health disorders, nor am I trained or licensed to do so. Energy Medicine attempts to optimize the body’s overall health and vitality, but it is not to be used instead of appropriate care from a licensed professional.
